New Resource in the Works: Safety Journal for Second Moms
If you’re parenting an adopted child, you may be seeing safety-related behaviors that don’t show up at school, in therapy, or around other adults.
This journal is being designed to help you identify, document, and track incidents and patterns so you can advocate for support earlier—before concerns escalate.
What you’ll be able to track (examples)
Incidents involving aggression, threats, or unsafe choices
Triggers, time of day, locations, and who was present
Escalation patterns and early warning signs
Interventions you tried and what helped (or didn’t)
Notes you can share with professionals when you’re ready
Want updates when it’s available?
Share your contact info below and I’ll let you know when the Safety Journal is ready—and you’ll have the option to be an early supporter.
By providing your phone number, you expressly consent to receive recurring automated text messages from Dawn T. Baggett, JD. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance. We will not share your phone number with unauthorized third parties.

Why documentation can make a difference
When safety concerns are happening at home, it can be hard to explain the full picture in a short appointment—especially if the behavior is inconsistent or your child presents differently in public.
Clear, compassionate documentation can help you:
spot patterns you might otherwise miss
communicate concerns more clearly to providers
support earlier intervention and better safety planning
A private, structured place to capture what’s happening—without judgment.
Help shape this new offer
When you sign up, you can also reply to the welcome message with what you’d want included (for example: checklists, incident logs, de-escalation notes, sibling safety planning, or provider-ready summaries).
